SOUL COAXING is the U.S. album recorded in 1967 and 1968 by the European international, French bandleader, orchestra director and composer, Raymond LeFevre. The album debuted on the Billboard LP chart on March 23, 1968. The album, having peaked at #117 on June 8, sustained a 16 week run on the Billboard Top 200, having been dropped from the chart on July 13, 1968.
The first track from the album was released as a U.S. single. “Soul Coaxing” or “Âme câline” is an instrumental single recorded in 1967 by the Raymond LeFèvreorchestra and released in 1968. It was a hit in the U.S. on the Four Corners label, peaking at #37 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in April near the end of its 12-week run that year.

A MCRFB Note: While the donor apologetically stated there is an audio glitch noted around the 10:58 mark of this aircheck, it is extended over for just several seconds. Nonetheless, we appreciate having acquired — as is — this fabulous (1969) CKLW radio memory.

Some 15,000 teenagers, mostly girls, paid nearly $25,000 in small change to watch him sing, play the guitar and wiggle across the stage at the Fox Theater.
