THE ONES: MOTOWN ARTISTS ’67 FLASHBACK MEMORY

‘THE ONES’ in 1967: Kerry Nicholoff (organ), Kevin Nicholoff (bass), Danny Hernandez (vocals; guitar), Mark Boomershine (drums). The group originally hailed from Lansing, Michigan. In hindsight today, the Ones became nothing more than a faint blip on the Motown radar after Berry Gordy signed them over to his Motown stable. The Bob Baldori produced single never charted nationally. “You Haven’t Seen My Love” became just another local (and forgotten) one hit wonder in Detroit during the Motown ’60s era. As noted, the single did chart briefly on the WKNR and CKLW music charts, respectively, December, 1967. Initially written as an instrumental by band organist Kerry Nicholoff, Hernandez later added lyrics to the song. Danny Hernandez passed away in 2000. The other three members of the group, as of 2012, reportedly still live in the Lansing area today. (Click on image for largest PC view)
